After the first weekend of action in Make The Call 2018, we have four teams with 100% records and five teams yet to get off the mark ….. or yet to understand the idea behind the contest !
In Group A its Go Bolts leading the way albeit they have bagged two points against Taggart’s Goldbricks who are officially the most useless team in the competition so far. Chasing the Bolts are the imaginatively named Peterborough Phantoms and these top two will go head-to-head this weekend with a Bolts win almost certain to secure them a quarter final spot.
Group B is headed by one of the tournament favourites, Invincible Islanders, who are coached by a past winner of MTC albeit he was a lot younger then. The Islanders are backed up by the Ginger Nutters who shared the spoils in their eagerly anticipated and much feared Nutters v Goons showdown on Saturday before edging out the slightly useless MK Fireworx on Sunday.
Group C is the tightest group so far with only one point separating the top five with Ledbury’s Leprechauns and Parker Jackets sharing the top two places after sharing the points in their clash on Saturday …… are there grounds for suspicion there ?
Group D already have two breakaway leaders with the Bushleague Midweekers edging ahead of the mightily impressive Aston Villains on goals scored ….. according to the League Management Committee, that situation WILL change !
After next weekend, there will only be one last qualifying game so big calls needed ….. good luck !
Team coaches are reminded to get their predictions in for next weekend as soon as possible and these can now be entered on the new predictions page which can be found under the Make The Call menu or by clicking HERE.
