Salem Steps Up to Elite Blaze and Bags MOM !

Phantoms forward Nathan Salem was last night drafted into the Elite League Coventry Blaze roster to fill in for injury absentees that included former Phantom Luke Ferrara.

Blaze fans were posting online “who is this Salem guy” pre-game but afterwards, the comments included “Salem was ace ….. we need some of him !”.

Blaze lost the game 4-7 but Salem delivered “great work” to assist Jordan Pietrus on Blaze’s third goal.

Under fire Blaze coach, Danny Stewart, commented “he’s a good player. He’s obviously signed full time with Peterborough but we’re going to try and use him as much as possible. He did a great job tonight – its a big jump from that level but he did some great things out there and whenever we can use him, we will use him”.

Salem wasn’t the only Phantoms showing off his talents in the Elite League, Glenn Billing played up for Milton Keynes Lightning in a 3-0 win in Edinburgh and nailed the opening goal with a slapshot after 14 minutes !
