The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms can exclusively announce a familiar face will be returning back to the Phantoms after a season away. The Phantoms are delighted to welcome back power forward Petr Stepanek.
The 28 year old Czech national, has spent the last season back in his home country playing for HC Žďár nad Sázavou in the Czech3 league. Petr spent the 2016/17 season with the Phantoms, when he became a great hit with the fans for his huge presence on the ice.
Petr commented on his return “I can’t wait to be back with Phantoms, to compete for silverware. I enjoyed my time in the UK when I was with the Phantoms previously and after having a good season in Czech I hope my experience will help Phantoms again this season”
Head Coach Slava Koulikov also commented “Petr is clearly a gifted offensive player with a good skill set and a big shot! We saw the quality that he can bring when he was with the Phantoms before and combined with his physicality, he should be a very effective player for us next season.
He knows our set up, our core of players and should start where he finished two seasons ago. Petr is certainly a great addition and we all look forward to his return!”
The addition of Petr, means an import will be departing. The Phantoms would like to confirm that Darius Pliskauskas will no longer be icing for the Phantoms. We would like to thank Darius for his contributions to the club and wish him and his family all the best of luck for the future.
