Mos Mauled by Nine Goal Phantoms !

Phantoms completed another four point weekend with a thumping 2-9 victory on the road against Invicta on Sunday evening with eight different scorers on the gamesheet !

The home side offered greatest resistance in the opening period where they made Phantoms work hard for their single marker from Ales Padelek but it was a different matter in the middle period as Phantoms eased up the gears to leave the home side chasing shadows. Goals from Rob Ferrara, Corey McEwen and Brad Bowering inside 92 seconds destroyed Invicta and a Will Weldon goal finished the period 0-5 in Phantoms favour.

Ryan Bainborough replaced Jordan Marr for the final twenty but the goals continued to rain in at the other end with Petr Stepanek and Glen Billing extending Phantoms lead to 0-7 before Nathan Pollard converted for another quickfire three goal blitzkrieg, this time inside 129 seconds and it was 0-8 Phantoms. Invicta broke their duck via import Edmund Piacka but Brad Bowering was on hand to tip in Nathan Long’s blue-liner to push Phantoms out to a 1-9 lead before Anthony Leone grabbed a late consolation for a 2-9 final score.

MOM for Phantoms went to Brad Bowering.

A win was always on the cards against a struggling Mos side but it was good to see a good shot conversion rate for the nine goals and it was good to see eight different players lighting the lamp.

Now its time to get heads down for a serious week of preparation for a home double-header which starts on Friday night with an Autumn Cup showdown against the team shaping up as Phantoms main rivals this season, Swindon Wildcats.
