Stokes Bags Five as Phantoms 2 Run Riot in Basingstoke

Connor Stokes was on hot form in Basingstoke tonight, nailing five goals in a comfortable 8-3 road win for Phantoms 2.

A huge 24-7 shots on goal advantage saw Phantoms 1-3 up at the first break and despite a messy 2-2 middle period, Phantoms slipped back up the gears to take the final period 3-0 with a 25-6 shots on goal advantage.

The game exploded in the 56th minute when Basingstoke’s Summerbell and Levy were called for cross checking and checking to the head respectively along with numerous roughing penalties as Taylor Romeo, Jon Brammall and Sam Barlow waded in to take 18 minutes of roughing calls between them !

Along with the five goal haul from Stokes, Shaun Yardley bagged two and Brad Moore grabbed a late shorthander to round off the scoring.

The win strengthens Phantoms position in fourth place in the table and they are next in action on the 18th February in Slough.
